Professor Michael Cox |
|
Professor Cox graduated from Melbourne University in 1982, and trained in general surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. Additional post fellowship training was gained at Belfast, Colchester England and Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. He was appointed to Nepean Hospital in 1994.
Professor Cox has recently been appointed Professor of Surgery, University of Sydney at Nepean Public Hospital and is active in training general surgeons. He runs regular tutorials for trainees and is the past chairman of the Board in General Surgery in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He is an examiner on the court of examiners for RACS.

- Laparoscopic Surgery (has performed over 4,000 Laparoscopic procedures)
- Endoscopic therapeutic procedures (2,000 procedures performed)
- ERCP procedures (1,500 procedures performed)
- He recently developed an interest in surgery for Morbid Obesity and is involved in the Gastric Banding program initially established by Dr Cregan
